After completing the Halloween outfits last week I'm now onto winter outfits such as winter coats, outfits etc. I aim to make dressy stylish little coats and hats for American Girl and similar sized dolls, and duffle coats for Annabell and Baby Born dolls, which were so popular last year that I was overrun with custom orders for them ! I always finish the garments as If I was making a coat for a person, with lined hoods and taped collars , so that all seams are well finished or tucked in.
I like to handsew delicate trimming and braids so that I get them exactly where I want them to go, and find it is worth the extra time and fuss to see the finished article looking just right!
Hi all, been busy all week making the afore mentioned Halloween outfits to fit Annabell,Baby born and American girl, realised that due to lack of time, been so busy as well with other commitments this week, I won't be able to custom make any of these, so will just put these on and see how it goes, and hope I don't dissappoint anyone.
If you want to look out for them, I shall post a couple of these on e-bay also, under my screen name of denim222green.
Hi there, I've not had much time to post lately, been busy doing housework, plus the 'day job' and sewing in between when I have the time.
I had a custom order this week for a Judo costume from a lady whose little girl goes to judo classes and she wanted her American girl Doll to have the same outfit, and same colour belt, I have these advertised in my shop as Karate suits, and they seem to be quite popular, here is the finished result
Hopefully the little girl will be pleased with it.
Also started my preperations for Halloween themed outfits, American girl again, the skirt will be made later, this is my preperation for the design of the top, laid out on my very old workbench! I decided to make my own motifs as there doesn't appear to be many in the shops this year yet !, Do let me know your comments, ideas on this, hope to get these outfits in my shop and possibly some on e-bay later next week in time for your Halloween shopping. It's back to the house work now, and hope to write again soon.
Another doll I've recently started sewing for is the ty Girlz, very cute little dolls with gorgeous hair and embroidered faces. I've started today on a winter collection of jackets coats etc.
This one I made today is a funfur jacket with a little black leather look collar and sleave trim, I just have to choose the buttons for it now, I try to pay as much attention to detail as I can, as I think it's what little girls look for in an outfit, don't forget, please comment with any suggestions you may have for these outfits, I would love to hear from you.
This and the other outfits I have in mind will be going into the shop in plenty of time for Christmas shopping.
These dolls are 13" tall and have a soft bendable body, that can be posed in different ways, there are similar dolls in the shops with the same measurements, but if you are going to buy outfits from my shop for these please check the measurements for dolls against your doll first, it's on my home page.
As the weather was no better than yesterday this morning, and I had to wait in for a new rug to be delivered via the courier, I decided to carry on the work on another range of outfits to fit 10" Bratz
I only have a small work area in my house so I try to keep myself as organised as possible as I go along.
Also I want to make this batch a little more detailed than my first batch, ( I only recently started selling clothes to fit the Bratz dolls), before that I mainly made and sold for larger dolls. This is the front of a skirt showing the detail, I first punched gold eyelets to each side of the front of the skirt, then threaded through pink satin ribbon. All my outfits for all the dolls are my original design and I don't usually repeat them unless a customer asks for them. So you know if you buy my outfits they are unique!
